Seattle Snaps

Trips home are always bitter sweet. They start with my happiness/excitement meter up at 10+++, but usually end with tears when I have to say goodbye. I went home a couple weeks ago for my sister’s birthday and had such a fun time. We mainly shopped, ate and relaxed with the pups. Below are a few stops that are always on my to-do list when I’m back. I feel so lucky to call this beautiful place home!

A historic, river-front town filled with antique shops and restaurants. We picked up a marionberry pie for dessert and also shopped at the home décor stores and boutiques. I found a lot of our shabby chic wedding décor in these shops last year. There are also a lot of farms in this area (including the one we got married at) and gorgeous views on the valley and mountains.

Mill Creek
Where I grew up! My parents have lived in the same house for more than 20 years, so I still have the same bedroom when I come home. And the same pup that has been in my life for 14 years now! The city itself has grown a lot over the last decade, especially with Town Center and the delicious restaurants. My parents eat at Azul on a weekly basis and it’s always on our list of places to go when I visit, in addition to Frost for doughnuts!

University District
I went to college at the University of Washington, where my parents and grandpa also went. I always enjoy driving by the campus and my sorority, plus visiting University Village where there are so many shops and restaurants. We went here for dinner on Saturday and watched the Husky game while eating at JOEY Kitchen. I also love checking out the stores that we don’t have in Vegas, like Madewell and Aritzia. And for a sweet treat, you can’t beat ice cream from Molly Moon’s or a cupcake from Trophy.

Until next time, you beautiful city!
