Typically the holiday season is full of cookies and indulgences, but lately I have been oddly motivated to workout and eat healthy. For the past month I have been really good about going to the gym, which in turn has inspired me to be mindful of my diet. When I’m in the habit of working out I realize how much effort it takes to work off 300 calories worth of desserts. We had a bake sale at work a couple weeks ago and I didn’t buy ANYTHING, which is very uncharacteristic of me! However I did treat myself to the pink champagne cupcakes I made recently. With this newfound gym routine, I’ve been dabbling more and more in the athleisure trend. Sure I have a few pairs of yoga pants and one pair of tennis shoes, but I’m starting to add more stylish pieces to my workout wardrobe. First up: rose gold sneakers! Because, duh. Okay I haven’t actually worked out in these yet because they are just so pretty! It’s no secret that I have an obsession with rose gold and unfortunately many other women do, too, because the last time I checked there was only one size left in them. However, there is a silver and metallic navy in the same style, which you can find here.
While I was running errands last weekend I wore these comfy rose gold sneakers with lululemon yoga pants and my Home T. This is seriously one of the softest shirts I have in my closet and I love showing my Washington pride! It’s also a great conversation starter. One time I was at the grocery store here in Las Vegas and someone asked me what part of Washington I was from and at first I was like, how to they know?! But then I realized I was wearing this tee. I gladly told them and we had a nice conversation about my hometown since they were originally from that area, too. No matter where the military sends us, Seattle will always feel like home.
Okay, last but not least: juice! Pressed Juicery recently opened a new location at Fashion Show mall and they reached out to me about trying their three-day cleanse. I love their drinks, but I was a little nervous since I had never done a cleanse. I was really good on Sunday and was surprised that I still felt full and energized! Their spiced almond drink and the chocolate almond are soooo good! They taste like milkshakes! I also really like their green juices and the waters. I’ll be honest though, once the work week rolled around I wasn’t as good about sticking to it. My coworker and I had made a football bet and the loser (him) had to bring bagels for the group, so I couldn’t not have one, right? Even if you don’t do a cleanse, though, they are a tasty way to add more nutrients to your diet.
Wow lots to talk about in today’s post! Hope you enjoyed it, happy Friday Eve!
