Must-Have Makeup

When it comes to makeup, I tend to find what works and stick with it. Because of this, I’ve been in a makeup rut lately, but decided to step up my beauty game for the new year! I’m always excited to try a new product in hopes that it will work perfectly, but then end up disappointed when there isn’t a noticeable difference. However, these products have been my favorite finds recently and give me a much-needed update to my look.

{1} Urban Decay Perversion Mascara. All mascara ads promise “bigger, badder, blacker” lashes, but this one actually delivers! It adds length and volume to your lashes without getting clumpy. Plus, it’s easy to apply!

{2} Maybelline The Nudes Palette. Before I discovered the magic of an eyeshadow palette, I was just using the same color for every occasion. I like that this selection lets you mix and match the different hues and create custom looks for any event, whether it’s a natural daytime look or dramatic smoky eye. The package even shows you how to combine the different colors, which was really helpful for a makeup amateur like myself.

{3} Anastasia Beverly Hill Dipbrow Pomade. I have fine, short and blonde eyebrows—not a great combo. This gel works wonders! It’s easy to apply and looks natural. It allows me to fill in and lengthen my eyebrows. I never realized what a difference eyebrows can make, but they really help your eyes stand out and define your features.

{4} Urban Decay Lipstick in Liar. I usually just use Vaseline or chapstick on my lips, but I was amazed by how much some lip color adds to your look. I swear the pink lipstick even made my eyes look bluer! The smooth, glossy feel is perfect for everyday wear.

{5} Quality Makeup Brushes. This doesn’t mean expensive. When it comes to eyebrow brushes, I use cheap drugstore brushes and for powder foundation I use the Bare Minerals brush that came in their starter kit. I also love the cute, new brushes at H&M that are pictured above. They had me at rose gold.

{6} Bare Minerals Foundation. I’m lucky that my skin doesn’t have too many blemishes that need to be covered up, so powder works perfectly for me. It’s light, easy to apply and evens out my skin tone. The best part is that it doesn’t irritate or dry out my super-sensitive skin!
