Friday Five

This is an exciting weekend in Las Vegas because Downtown Summerlin is finally open! The shopping and dining destination boasts a variety of shops, including Nordstrom Rack, Dillard’s and Macy’s. No need to brave the Strip for the best brands in retail anymore! When it comes to eating, I’m looking forward to noshing at MTO Café, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill and CRAVE Restaurant.

The grand opening is being celebrated with a four-day street festival complete with music, drinks and food trucks. I rushed there after work on the first day it was open, but I’m excited to spend some more time exploring this weekend! Here are some more highlights from my week, too, to round out the Friday Five.

{It’s so fun to have an outdoor shopping mall with office buildings, restaurants and entertainment. It actual feels like you’re in a city, not in the middle of a desert where the tallest buildings are hotels or a replica of the Eiffel Tower.}

{Trying to make it feel like fall—even though we wore shorts to the pumpkin patch— with apple cider doughnuts topped with cinnamon frosting and washed down with fresh pear cider from Gilcrease Orchard}

{Mixing stripes and florals. Here is another look at how I styled this floral jacket.}

{Made my first real pumpkin pie with actual pumpkin, crust from scratch and homemade whpped cream.}

{Foraging pinecones on my daily walks to Starbucks for some DIY projects.}
