It’s sandal season! No longer can you hide your unpainted toe nails and dry heels in the comfort of your cozy socks and boots. I noticed my feet could use a little lovin’ so I decided to make a foot scrub from some ingredients I already had in the house. After a little soak, scrub and painting, I’m now ready to sport my favorite new sandals!
Honey Sugar Scrub
- 3 Tbsp. olive oil
- 2 Tbsp. honey
- 1/2 cup sugar
Mix all ingredients in a bowl, then transfer into airtight container. Helpful hint: pour the olive oil first because it makes the honey pour from the measuring spoon much easier!
First, soak your feet for a few minutes in a mixture of warm water and vinegar, which helps soften the dead skin. Then scoop some of the sugar scrub out with your fingers and massage it in small circles on your feet, paying special attention to your toes and heels. After a minute or so, rinse with warm water and then dry your feet. Mine felt so much softer! I then massaged some lotion onto them to keep them moisturized.
Coral is my go-to color when it comes to nail polish. My favorite is Essie’s “Tart Deco.”
